Creating a classic

When I worked at Timex we had a license with Disney for a line of exclusive watches sold only in duty-free shops. We all understood that it was a “rule” that Mickey’s ears were shown on EVERY design…it just didn't work with this watch case.

I wrote an email to Disney corporate asking them to “bend” the rule…and they allowed it! I stood up for my design, communicated my reasons, and created a classic!

Still ticking

I worked side-by-side with a great marketing team at Timex. We conducted market research, developed watch cases, dial graphics, and packaging for the successful launch of TMX and Timex Kids, two Gen Y brands. Upon their introduction, these brands collectively contributed to $28M in annual revenue, signaling their impactful market penetration and consumer appeal.

As the lead designer, I designed the cases, the straps, the dials, and the packaging.

This watch is still available on Amazon today…and it’s been a minute!
