Try something new

When someone asks me, “Can you create this?” It does not matter what the this is, I always say yes! The rules for most design projects are the same…just the parameters might be different. Plus, I love trying and learning new things. This cookbook was that project: it was a big undertaking in a new category. We gathered photos, stories, and recipes in such a way that it is sure to become a family heirloom.

Styles unified this project and provided a framework for variety and yet, established consistency. The perfect binding was indeed just that: perfect! The front of the book was an updated version of the label that had been used in the 1930s (depicted on the back cover, shown below as a flat spread).

Working with a knowledgeable printer was a huge asset. I have spent years forming relationships with trusted partners who are willing to try new things and make ideas reality.
